The college is managed by an NGO which offers rehabilitation services for adults with psychiatric disabilities. Students get an in-depth exposure to working in the residential and non-residential rehabilitation facilities as part of their field work postings during the M. Sc. Course.

Students also participate in other community-outreach activities run by the Society such as the monthly mental health camps in Sidlaghatta , Chikballapur taluk, Karnataka and community awareness programmes. In addition, the Society also runs a project titled “Identification and Redressal of Stigma Associated with Mental Illness in Rural and Semi-Urban Communities of Karnataka” in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, that is funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Some students have also done their dissertation using data from these rural projects.
Students also get exposure to participate in academic activities organized by other organizations pertaining to mental health and rehabilitation. |
